Concrete Production and Construction
We’ve been at the forefront of concrete production technology for concrete roadway paving and structural work for over a century. We produce all types of concrete for a variety of application, including high-performance (HP), high-performance internally curing (HPIC), self-consolidating concrete (SCC), tremie concrete and controlled low-strength material (CLSM). These materials are produced with a focus on quality control and consistency. Additionally, the central mix plants that are used by Cold Spring allow for concrete production rates as high as 550 cubic yards per hour. Cold Spring is poised to be able move and set up these plants quickly to accommodate the demands of large projects such as wind farms and commercial facility construction. In addition to concrete production, Cold Spring has significant abilities in concrete transport and placement. With a fleet of mixers, conveyor truck and pump truck, as well as experience with numerous concrete placement systems, Cold Spring has the ability to place concrete at almost any location under a variety of conditions. Cold Spring has been both slipform paving and constructing large concrete structures for decades. Our concrete paving experience includes widths of over 30 feet, use of an automatic dowel bar inserter, paving rates of over 500 cubic yards per hour and complicated ramps and plaza areas.
Crushing, Screening and Draglining
Cold Spring has been crushing and screening in our own gravel pits and for own projects for decades but has just within the past few years entered into the contract crushing and screening market. With a significant range of modern, high-production equipment, Cold Spring has the capability to crush shot rock, glacial gravel, demolition debris and recycled asphalt product (RAP). We also have the ability to screen materials to produce select products as well as sized stone products. All of these operations are performed with a focus on safety, high production and quality products. In the right application, crushing and screening rates of up to 700 tons per hour can be achieved. In addition to crushing and screening, Cold Spring also offers services of draglining and dredging with two large Manitowoc duty-cycle cranes. These two cranes have performed dragline operations in many gravel pits across the Western half of New York and into Pennsylvania. With our larger dragline, we can pull material at rates approaching 500 tons per hour.
Earthmoving and Grading
Earthmoving has been a staple for Cold Spring since our inception. We have always pushed the limits of dirt moving and grading productivity through cutting edge equipment, new technologies and operator training. Whether the job requires huge cuts and fills with millions of cubic yards of dirt to be moved, or complicated grading on a wetland project or other unusual site, Cold Spring has the tools and expertise to get it done accurately and efficiently. We were at the forefront of using GPS technology, machine control and 3D modeling to bring these areas of work up to their highest level. We continue to develop our equipment fleet and abilities to make our operations as efficient and environmentally friendly as possible.
Pile Driving and Deep Foundation Drilling
Cold Spring has been performing pile driving work for decades. Most of this work has been for bridge construction but has expanded into retaining walls, cofferdams and other areas. We perform work driving sheet piles, H-piles, tube piles and pipe piles. We have an extensive fleet of cranes and numerous pile hammers to properly equip any project based on requirements. In the past few years, Cold Spring has expanded into the arena of deep foundation drilling. With thousands of foundations performed to this point, we have built the expertise and equipment fleet to perform an array of deep foundation drilling tasks. We have tooling for up to 10 foot diameter foundations in earth and have the ability to drill in hard rock up to 6 feet in diameter with great efficiency.
