Abstract

D260140 was the initial phase of a larger Route 219 project, with the intended goal to extend West Seneca, NY to Rich Creek, VA. The scope of work was new roadway construction spanning 4.2 miles between Route 39 in Springville, NY and Peters Road in Ashford, NY. The project called for new earthwork, pavement, and 9 new structures. Of the 9 new structures, 7 were simple span bridges while the remaining 2 were major steel arch structures over Cattaraugus Creek/Zoar Valley. These major steel arch bridges span 705 feet.
